Q: How difficult is the Marine Pre Lube kit to install?
A: There are 3 easy steps to install the Insta-Lube Kit
1. Bolt on the mounting bracket with 2 bolts or self-tapping screws.
2. Connect the hydraulic hose between engine and storage tank.
3. Connect 12-volt positive wire to selected fuse and solenoid valve.
Q: I am using a Miracle Oil Additive that is supposed to eliminate wear on start up so why would I need to install Insta-Lube System?
A: There are a lot of oil additives that claim to eliminate some wear by depositing a film of lubricant on the bearings surfaces.
But none of this will pressurize and adjust the hydraulic valve lifters or positively separate bearing surfaces on your marine oil system with pressurized oil like the Insta-Lube Pre lube system.
Q: I have a 1959 Lyman Runabout with a Gray Marine 109 engine and want to keep the same engine appearance; can the tank be mounted remotely?
A: Yes the kit will work on your Classic Lyman Runabout, the hose is long enough to place the tank and valve out of site so everything looks stock.
Q: I am rebuilding a 350 Chevy for my 21 FT Carrera and will install the kit; can the tank be filled with oil ready to prelube the very first startup?
A: Yes the Accumulator can be filled with oil ready to pre lube the engine for the first time. Just use the air valve located toward the top of the tank to add compressed air to build a backpressure for first operation of the new engine.
Q: It’s a well-known fact that a great deal of Marine Engine Bearing Wear is at startup, so why don’t the manufactures address the problem?
A: That’s a good question and a lot of people ask it. It isn't a secret and yet only a few engine builders incorporate a pre lube system in their design.

According to the MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY ACT OF 1975 installing aftermarket equipment does not void a vehicle manufacturer's original warranty.
Q: Will there be less emissions after installing the Insta-Lube Kit?
A: Yes, the pre-adjusted hydraulic valve Lifters will have the engine tuned for maximum efficiency and less emissions during startup.
However the primary benefit to the engine is eliminating the wear to the Main bearings, Rod bearings, Camshaft bearings, Pistons, Piston Rings, and Wrist pens, Cylinder Walls, Hydraulic Valve Lifters, Timing Gears, and Timing Chains during startup.
Q: Is the oil that is stored in the accumulator tank filtered oil?
A: Yes, only pre-filtered oil from the engine oil gallery is stored for pre-lubing the engine the next time you turn the key on.
